National Tourism Week is drawing to a close, and we want to thank our incredible clients across this industry and celebrate all the ways tourism makes such a positive impact on our communities! H2 is proud to support some of BC and Alberta’s most dynamic attractions, hospitality and tour operators, and several destination management organizations (DMOs). We help promote their highlights and attributes to visitors while educating and showcasing how to preserve, share, and celebrate culture, heritage, and environmental stewardship, all inherent themes deeply embedded in the visitor economy. Here’s one example of a project we’re particularly proud of, supporting Sunshine Coast Tourism: https://lnkd.in/gfz8rcZS Share the Shine was a one-two punch: a resident pride-of-place campaign and a value of tourism initiative. We conceived and activated this initiative last summer in partnership with Sunshine Coast Tourism to help educate and inspire residents about the benefits of tourism in all of their coastal communities, from Langdale to Lund and everywhere in between. This was hot on the tail after we introduced Salty the Sea Otter (www.saltysays.ca) to the world to educate visitors to Ucluelet about the finer points of responsible camping, ocean safety, fire hazards, trail etiquette and ‘pet’ peeves - like off-leash dogs. We’re also proud of the work we do for Tourism Nanaimo (Nanaimore), Oak Bay Tourism (Best Days in Oak Bay), Hotel Grand Pacific, WildPlay Element Parks, Oak Bay Marine Group, and Heritage Park Historical Village! There are tourism opportunities in every corner of BC, supporting urban and rural communities, and we at H2 are here to help our clients solve complex problems - often with untraditional ideas - full of creativity, beauty, and strategic thinking. #TourismWeekCanada2024 #BCTourismCounts #SharetheShine #SaltySays #Nanaimore

After last week's BC Tourism Industry Conference here in Victoria, we're still sharing funny stories and having deep conversations. It's always a treat to visit with longtime colleagues, clients, and industry friends at this event and to fuel the fire of new connections with industry leaders who help keep us passionate about supporting destination marketing initiatives and tourism-centric innovations in BC. Kirsten Soder, H2's Account Director and Resident Tourism Nerd, was in attendance and brought back a few takeaways to the team: ➡️ The power of storytelling, in all its forms, will always remain relevant. Shaun Boothe’s Unauthorized Biographies series was a compelling way to kick off day one with a critically acclaimed musical project celebrating the world’s greatest cultural icons through biographical rap songs - 'Repackaging History through Hip-Hop.' ➡️ It's heartening to see clients and colleagues like Madone Pelan helping lead crucial conversations to advance equity. Fittingly, on the week of #InternationalWomensDay, the WORTH Association hosted this panel, advocating and championing gender equity values that we at H2 also hold highly. ➡️ As a full-service agency, supporting our clients best means becoming increasingly savvy and reliant on good data. It's great to see Destination British Columbia’s Research & Analytics Team considering new methods of telling the ‘Value of Tourism’ story with data and how we can help tease out this story for our clients, looking at economic, social, and environmental measures. ➡️ Provincial priorities and industry advocacy remain intimately and necessarily intertwined. Thanks for an insightful and fun conversation between TIABC CEO Walt Judas and BC Premier David Eby. ➡️ People feel big things when the shiny new toy is revealed! Presentations from the Destination British Columbia Global Marketing team included an introduction to the first two of the iconic routes launched as part of the 'Invest in Iconics Strategy.' As with all new creative endeavours, some will love it, some won't, and either way, it stimulates thoughtful and insightful conversations about visitor dispersion, logistics, and representation. ➡️ Socializing and celebrating during the gala dinner and annual awards remains a solid networking event and a heartwarming, inspiring evening! Indigenous Tourism BC (ITBC) hit the nail on the head with Alissa Assu and Keefer Collison co-hosting as Masters of Ceremonies. ➡️ Tackling the tough challenges ahead is an industry-wide responsibility and solution. We at H2 are thrilled to be supporting creative, passionate, brilliant DMOs, community organizations and tourism operator clients and look forward to seeing everyone next year! ⚡️

It was our Victoria team's first day in our new office space at KWENCH. Everyone is pumped about the dynamic people, cool space and sparkling water on tap. Can't wait to have our whole team here in April.

Nanaimo? More like Nanaimore. More culture, with art galleries, an exciting theatre scene, live music, and museums. More adventures, with island hopping to Gabriola and Saysutshun, great biking and hiking trails, and whale-watching excursions. More shopping and food options in an eclectic downtown, with three districts to choose from — the Arts District, the Old City Quarter and the Waterfront District — all offering a unique vibe. More space to yourself, more people like you, more reasons to make the trip. 🌲🎨 To show all that Nanaimo has to offer, this campaign showcased eccentric and colourful creative that was featured on digital, social, video, radio, and TV. By tracking verified visits directly attributed to the campaign, we know it is working tremendously well. There’s so much more than meets the eye, ‘Nanaimore’ ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eT95sEDe
